Lakshmy Ramanathan graduated in English Literature from Stella Maris College, Chennai. She went on to major in print media from the Asian College of Journalism. She spent her early twenties interviewing terror- and war-torn families for The Times of India and Daily News & Analysis (DNA). She also reported extensively on education, health, and other social issues.

These days, she leads a less hectic life (or so she believes) doubling up as a full-time mommy and part-time slave to her feisty four-year-old. She lives with her family in Mumbai.
